These are a few pics of a day-trip we took to Sedona a few weeks ago. AAAH Sedona is a little piece of paradise in this absolutely freakin' way too HOT place we live. We just hung out at the creek, fished, snacked and picked wild blackberries, which later went over a hot shortbread biscuit. YUMMMM!
Lainey always taking care of Ben. I think she gets more nervous than I do that he'll fall in the river. Oh my, I'll have bad dreams just because I typed that. Yes, I'm a paranoid freakazoid...
Hudson putting on his football gear for the first time. He's in tackle this year. They have been practicing for 3 weeks with pads, but today was the first day with helmets, which meant the first day of hitting!!! Poor Hud, doesn't complain much, but it was a hundred degrees, full pads, helmet, hard warm-up for an hour, followed by tackling practice. He came over with pale white lips and said mommy I'm going to throw up. You know what's crazy about that. The coaches actually expect the kids to get sick!!! And oh no, we mommy's are NOT allowed to baby our boys, but actually they tell them to get back out there and throw up through the helmet if you have to. WHAT THE HECK!!! Seriously folks, this tackle football is some serious stuff, these parents DO NOT mess around. You would think we were in pro-football or something. OH MY! He has practices on Tues and Thursday's for 2 hours and then today (Saturday) he had a 2 hr. practice at 8:30am and then another one in a little bit at 5:30pm. Oh my gosh, I might have to walk away at this one. His first game is in 2 weeks. Some of the other moms warned that the new "rookie moms" might need a kleenex box at the first game when their boy gets knocked silly! (taking deep breath). Hudson plays QB. Yay Hud!
