4th of July...

okay, so i'm a little behind in my posting. summers are busy around here. Even though we would have rather been somewhere else cooler on the 4th, we ended up staying home and having a bbq with nana. everyone knows nana expects baby back ribs on any holiday! then we went to the 9 pm fireworks show. talk about HOT! we sat in our lawn chairs on a black top parking lot! took popsicles and drinks to keep cool. it was a really great firework display, but next year maybe we'll go earlier to get a lawn seat Lainey and Nana....

Ben kept trying to throw a fit, but everytime he would start to scream Sean would squirt cold water on him. He would be stunned into silence for a couple minutes. actually pretty funny...
watching the fireworks...ben would oooooh and aaaaah, point and talk jibberish. I got a little clip on video with my camera, but don't know how to post it.
Lainey was afraid the fireworks were going to hit her, so she hid behind us.

we had a really fantastic time at the circus. it really is "the greatest show on earth". i could have watched it all night. but i guess 2 hrs and 15 minutes was long enough. unfortunately my camera did not take good pics inside the stadium, with all the circus lighting. here we are ready to go in....
and with daddy...ben stayed with nana...he would have never sat still that long
completely into it...
