My Little Drunken Peanut is So Sleepy...

Well, Benjamin had his procedure today. He had a rough start, because they could not get an IV in. Oh my...they tried in his arm twice and then in each of his feet. They couldn't get one in any of those, so the nurse wraps a rubber band around his head. I said, " are you going to try to get an IV in his head?" They said yes, and I told them I couldn't take anymore, so I left. The poor little guy was so upset, because they didn't just stick it in and pull it out. They wriggle it around under his skin....mommy can watch just about any surgery or whatever, but when it comes to my own kid...WHOOZY CITY. Did I mention Sean already had to leave after the first try beacause he was about to pass out. WHITE as a ghost! I'm glad I left too finally, because I think it got ugly. Finally, after about an hour they informed me they got one in his wrist. YIKES! He came home with lots of band-aids. The prognosis is very confusing. I would be able to draw out on paper the problem he has, but can't really explain it in words. The Dr. had a hard time talking to us in the English language, instead of DOCTOR lingo. But the main thing is, they will not have to do any corrective surgery. He's on many medications and they upped his breathing treatments for asthma. They are hoping that as he gets older he will grow out of the problem with his throat. On top of that he had some issues with his bronchial tubes/lungs. They are testing some fluid they took to give us the results. Well, that's the best I can do to explain. Here are some pics of my little baby cakes. His procedure ended up being at about 10:30 and he slept until 5pm. Oh yeah, he responded so much to the sleepy meds that they weren't happy with how he was breathing, so they had to give him a reversal med and he had a hard time even responding to that. I'm so glad I found this out as we were almost leaving or I might have had a nervous breakdown. It doesn't take much...I'm a basketcase!
What are you ladies doing to me?
This is after right after the bronchoscopy. We could not get him to wake up...so sleepy.
Got this here fish gown on and I'm still wondering why we're here.
This is right after, when we first came in and the nurse was holding him. So sweet.
Mommy's little baby
He would only open his eyes for a second and then he was back out. He was a little drunken baby.
Mommy why are you laughing at me?
This is him one second....

This is him the next second.

School Christmas Program...Park Day

Lainey and some of her friends posing before the their program.
Lainey's class walked to the lake park for a sack lunch on Wednesday. Ty, Ben and I met up there with the kids.
It's cold outside mommy...burrrrr
I was so proud of Hudson for getting up front and singing. He gets so anxious. He actually was so nervous that I had to pick him up from school early and then he was okay by that evening to get up front. Poor guy- he takes after him mama. Way to go Hud!!!
Hud with a couple of his classmates.
They have their performance in an outside amphitheater. Ben was enjoying a treat of dried grass while waiting for the kids. YUM!

Laugh If You Will...Until your heart is content....

Okay, okay so I'm like a little old lady. I can't help it...I love to try new things. Laugh if you will, but you will not be eating fresh yellow squash, zuchinni, green beans, cucumbers and tomato.
My first bloom on my yellow squash. Oh, the things that make me excited!
My Early girls. There are a ton of these.
The Cherries have gone nuts. There are so many of them and they are finally starting to change color. YUMMY!
Incase you didn't think I was enough like a little old lady, I have also been sewing alot (handbags and Christmas pillow covers). HA! and to top it off, my favorite magazine is Better Homes and Gardens.

A morning in the life of Ben and Tyger...

In my spare time, I like to play with electrical outlets We set up little Christmas trees in each of the kids rooms, but Ben is more interested in the plug than the tree.
You crazy mommy!!!
We made a gingerbread house after school yesterday. I forgot to take a pic with all the kids. It was quite chaotic. 3 neighbor girls came over while we were trying to work on it. 6 kids and 1 gingerbread house, does not make an easy task!!!
PILLOW FORT
Every morning Ty has to round up every pillow in the house and make a fort. They had a good time this morning in their so called "fort".
You're a FUN big brother!
Buddies forever!
Mommy and her Tyger TY....otherwise known as SUPERMAN!

Kids, kids, crazy kids...

I'm sending this invitation out to my friend KYA BLU...where are you??? Your mommy says you like to eat paper too. My mommy finally hid the magazine basket in the closet. So now I just crawl around and eat any tiny thing on the floor I can find.
I like to start out with an appetizer of Better Homes and Gardens...Kya, does your mommy read Vogue? We could have that for the main course.
PAPER, PAPER- I LIKE TO EAT....PAPER, PAPER- IT IS A TREAT!!!!

Tyger didn't quite make it to dinner this night. He and Ben had a full day of playing.

DR. Day Update...

Benjamin had his pulmonary appointment today. It went fine. The Dr. gave us insight as to what might be going on with his breathing. She is having us try a few meds out for a couple of weeks, which are for allergies, asthma and reflux (at his barium swallow a couple months ago, they found that he has significant reflux that never actually comes out, it just sits and then eventually goes back down, which can cause his throat to be constantly swollen), and also gave us a breathing treatment machine to do twice a day. At his age if he was going to "grow out of" his stridor (noisy breathing), they think he would have already done so. They scheduled to do a bronchoscopy on Dec. 21st. They want to see if there is something possibly blocking his airway or something. They do have to put him under for this procedure, which everyone knows I am just horrified over! The doctor that is doing it has done over 7000 of them. That gives me some comfort. On Dec. 15, he has a follow-up appointment to see if the meds he has been given are doing him any good. Please pray that this appt. goes well and they can cancel the bronchoscopy. The other things she said may be the problem are too much for me to even think about at this point and involve a cardio-thoracic surgeon. NOT HAPPY WITH THOSE WORDS. I hope that you will keep our little guy in your prayers.

Sorry for all the run-on sentences and maybe too much information. I really got going!

WHAT did you say? This is the cutest kid you've ever seen? Of course, he is...unless you have kids of your own of course, then they are the cutest

Even when I'm sick, the bath tub makes me smile. Whoa people, no wonder my nose is pouring. Look at these teethers I've been working on.
After my bath I decided to rock on the porch.
Me again...mommy couldn't decide which was cuter...
Hi grandma's!

Sick and Teething...YUCK!

Ben hasn't been feeling well for about a week. He's had a cold and teething. Two new top teeth. He's just getting so big, so fast. Crawling all over.
Tyger- you are teasing me again.
Hi Mama- I'm gonna' get you!
Poor Boy he's leaking from everywhere! His sissy sure does love him. Although in this picture, I'm not sure he's feeling the same.
Go Tyger Go! Daddy took Ty's training wheels off his little bike and he was riding like a maniac within minutes. Literally
Riding up and down on my little red bicycle...
Daddy and his Lainey Girl. She fell asleep waiting for me to cook dinner. School just wears them out.
No Tyger, I can do it by myself.
